PA File Sight Installation Tips

PA File Sight uses a file system driver to monitor all file access activity on the host machine. This allows PA File Sight to find out who deletes a file for example. Because of this file system driver, it means that PA File Sight can only monitor files and directories on the local computer.

If you need to monitor file access on multiple computers, you'll need to install PA File Sight on each one.

For some applications this would be burdensome, but PA File Sight has taken steps to ease this job. First, PA File Sight installs very quickly. Second, once you have a server's monitors and alerts configured the way you want them, you can export that configuration to a file (right click on the server in the PA File Sight Console and choose Export) and then import that same configuration into each of the other servers (via the Import command in the same location on the remote installation).
